  • Do you use training tools such as prong collar or e-collar?
Yes, we use tools when necessary. Not all dogs require tools during training, but we will use them when needed. Tools do not replace training. They only add to it. If you are unsure about training tools we are happy to go over every single detail about how we use them and the steps taken to introduce them to your dog. If you are against tool usage we at least ask to be able to go over their proper use, so you have an informed decision.
  • Do you offer refreshers after training?
Yes, we include 3 lessons in our Board and Train programs to be used after the dog goes home. This helps with transitioning the training back to the home and helping the owners feel more confident in working with their dog. We also offer a refresher training board and train rate that many of our clients take advantage of when boarding their dogs with us.
  • Do you offer a guarantee?
No, we do not offer a guarantee on our training as it is up to the owner to keep up with the obedience and maintenance once the dog goes home. This is a perishable skillset, so if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it. We are happy to provide refresher training to help keep you on track if needed. It only takes 15 minutes a day to maintain their training.
  • What if you don't offer the type of training I'm looking for?
We have many colleagues in this industry that we highly recommend. If we don’t offer the training you are looking for, are booked during the time you would like training, or you’d like to interview multiple trainers to see who is the best fit for you, we’d be happy to provide those recommendations.
  • Did you know that we offer rescue dog evaluations BEFORE you adopt?
We can help you find a dog that matches your lifestyle to help find the perfect pup for you and your family. This is something we highly suggest to reduce the chance of returning a dog because it isn’t a good fit.
  • Is a board & train program right for me?
Board and Train Programs are designed for your dog to come stay with us in our home and receive full immersive training. These are great for those who may not have the time or capability to do the training themselves, but do have the ability to maintain the training once completed. We have a variety of programs available to suit your needs. We can customize all programs to fit other goals not listed below. Just ask!
  • Will my dog sleep in a crate when staying with you?
Yes, your dog will sleep in a crate when not being directly supervised. We teach dogs that their crate is a safe space for them to decompress and relax. It is not used as punishment.
  • How often is the dog out of the crate?
Dogs come out about every 2-3 hours starting after depending on our schedule for the day. Your dog will come out to either train, play or hang out with the trainers or kennel staff.
  • Will my dog forget me? Will their personality change?
Not at all! Your dog will be very excited to see you again at the end of their program and be the same goofy pup just with obedience added to enhance your relationship.
  • Will my dog play with other dogs?
As long as your dog is dog friendly then yes, they will get to play with other dogs that match their play style or would help teach them appropriate social skills.
  • Is boarding only for current clients?
No, boarding services are available for both current and new clients. At Lifelong K9, we welcome all dogs and are happy to provide them with a comfortable and safe place to stay while their owners are away. We do require proof of up-to-date vaccinations and a temperament assessment prior to boarding to ensure the safety of all dogs in our care. Our experienced team of trainers and handlers will provide individualized attention and care for each dog to ensure they have a stress-free and enjoyable stay.
“Savannah and Connor have so much knowledge about dog behavior, that alone makes them great. But they are way more than just knowledgeable trainers, they are the best trainers you will find! They build bonds with your dog, make sure everyone is having fun learning, and actually help dogs become better. They also board dogs at their home where dogs get more attention and care than a normal boarding kennel or vet office! They handled my crazy pack and enjoyed them! You can see the care, attention, and dedication they put in to make a wonderful training atmosphere for all dogs of all ages!"
